The Vancouver Summer Opera Studio (“VSOS”) is an intensive training program for advanced students and emerging professionals. Located in Vancouver, BC Canada, our 3-week summer sessions focus on role preparation, stagecraft, diction, movement, vocal training and the “Business of Opera”. Led by respected and leading industry professionals, each session culminates in fully staged and costumed performances.
VSOS offers a unique and intimate educational experience. As a private studio, we strive for quality over quantity. Each session, we double cast one opera from the standard operatic repertoire. The nature of the small ensemble ensures that each participant receives the individual attention and training required to successfully prepare and perform a role from the standard operatic repertoire.
In addition to preparing and performing a role, you will benefit from private vocal training, master classes, movement (Yoga, Alexander Technique, Dance), diction, audition techniques and seminars specific to the business of being an opera singer.
